A source close to the family told TheCable Lifestyle that the rapper’s wife has opted to be his kidney donor.

Abdulkareem, who is a veteran in Nigeria’s music space, is battling kidney failure.

The singer has been undergoing dialysis. He is also expected to undergo a kidney transplant at the end of July.

“The wife is donating her kidney for him. All that is left now is to get the money needed for the surgery,” the insider said.

This is coming at about the same time when MI Abaga, another rapper, had called on fans and well-wishers to fund the ailing musician’s surgery.

MI had also revealed that “we have a donor in his family”.

“Our brother has been diagnosed with kidney failure and requires surgery urgently!” he wrote.

“We have a donor in his family. The hospital has fixed 27th July 2022 for this emergency surgery.”

Eedris and Yetunde have been married for nearly two decades. The union is blessed with three children, a boy and two girls.

On the occasion of their wedding anniversary in December last year, the rapper wrote: “Love is patient and kind; for 18years love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.

“It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

“Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease. With you, my life is full of happiness and beautiful things.

“You’re truly my everyday gladness and I love you tenderly. The most caring, loving, special and beautiful woman I’ve ever met is you, my love. I bless the day we met and I love you to the moon and back. Happy Anniversary, my beautiful wife.”
