Last weekend, the town of Agulu, in Anambra, stood still for Somto Akunyili and Chinonso Asuzu as they became husband and wife.

Somto, one of the daughters of late Dora Akunyili, former director-general of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control of Nigeria (NAFDAC), had been dating Asuzu for four years before they walked down the aisle.
The colourful traditional marriage (Igba Nkwu) was attended by elders and relatives of both families after the white wedding was held at Madona Catholic Church in Agulu.
