Simon Guobadia, the Nigerian businessman, has confirmed his divorce from Porshia Williams, ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star — after 15 months of marriage.
The couple exchanged vows in November 2022.
Rumours of their split surfaced on Thursday when Porshia filed for divorce in Atlanta.
While the exact cause remains undisclosed, a source close to the couple told People Magazine that it stemmed from an “ongoing matter” and was “unrelated to recent allegations involving Simon’s past”.
In an Instagram post, Guobadia confirmed the report, stating that his love for Porshia will cease after their divorce.
“Will stop loving my wife when divorce is final,” he wrote.
Their separation comes amid reports that Guobadia was denied permanent residency in the United States due to an alleged criminal record.
Porshia was previously married to Kordell Stewart, an ex-NFL player, for two years until their 2013 divorce.
She shares a daughter with Dennis McKinley, her ex-fiancé.
Guobadia, on the other hand, has five children from previous relationships.
The pair first met in 2021 while the businessman was still married to Falynn, Porshia’s RHOA co-star.
Porshia denied being a home wrecker and said their relationship did not intersect with the timeline of Guobadia and Falynn’s marriage.
“I had nothing to do with their divorce filing. That’s between the two of them,” she wrote.
“Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been settled. Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everybody’s lives.”
Their union, however, did not produce any children.
