Simi, the Nigerian singer, has revealed that she listens to songs from only Adekunle Gold, her husband.
In a recent chat on the Zero Conditions podcast, Simi said she is not generally a big music listener and only has ears for Gold’s songs because they are married.
“I don’t listen to anyone’s music. The reason I listen to my husband’s music is because I’m married to him,” she said.
She added that even her music does not get much playtime after its release.
Simi also referenced J. Cole, the US rapper, she previously had a crush on, as the only other artiste she enjoys listening to his songs.
“I like Post Malone’s first album, ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys.’ I like J. Cole. I don’t listen to anybody’s music. Nothing’s changed. I just don’t know,” she added.
“I don’t really listen to anyone’s music. The reason I’m listening to my album now is because it just came out. In a few weeks I probably won’t listen to it as much as I do now.”
Simi and Adekunle Gold tied the knot in 2019 and have a child together.
The songstress gained prominence in 2014 with the release of ‘Tiff,’ which was nominated for The Headies 2015.
She owns her record label called Studio Brat.
Gold is a multiple award-winning artiste who gained widespread attention after releasing 2015 hit single ‘Sade’.
He is currently signed to Def Jam Recordings.
