Simi, the Nigerian singer, is set to hold ‘Can You Simi Now’, her much-awaited concert scheduled to take place on December 28.
In a statement sent to TheCable Lifestyle on Friday, the musician announced that the event would hold at the Muri Okunola Park in Lagos.
According to the statement, the concert will be dedicated to the 1990s described “as the era of great music.”
It added that those planning to grace the event are “expected to attend this concert dressed in 90’s style.”
The concert announcement comes a few days after she came through with ‘So Bad’, her latest song with Joeboy.
Simi started her career as a gospel singer and released ‘Ogaju’, her debut studio album, in 2008.
The ‘Duduke’ crooner has since continued to pull the strings of fame with numerous hit projects.
The 33-year-old songstress has also been a vocal voice in the campaign against the perceived maltreatment of women in society.
In March, she had decried the treatment melted on women in the music industry, saying female artistes hardly get away with things as their male counterparts do.
“Women can hardly get away with the kinds of things many men in the same industry get away with on a regular,” she had said.
“When a woman complains about the shit she’s experiencing, I see many people saying ‘what about so and so’ does she have 2 heads. To me, that’s unfortunate, because everybody’s experience is different.”
