Shondaland, an American television production company, is developing Luvvie Ajayi’s best-selling debut book I’m Judging You: The Do-Better Manual into a comedy series.
Ajayi broke the exciting news via her Facebook page yesterday by posting a link from Deadline and captioned it saying: “I’ve been sitting on this news. I don’t even have the words to say how geeked I am.”
The series, which is under Shondaland’s overall deal with ABC, according to Deadline, will be the production company’s first foray into comedy.
Ajayi published her debut book in September 2016 and it shot to number five on the New York Times bestseller list.
The book is a collection of essays split into four sections: Life, Culture, Social Media, and Fame.
Ajayi originally gained popularity for her humour site, AwesomelyLuvvie.com, where she reached an even bigger audience while recapping episodes of Shondaland’s drama, Scandal, till she eventually gained the attention of Rhimes.
Shonda will add her first comedic series to her TV arsenal which include Grey’s Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder, & Scandal.
Following the announcement, Ajayi tweeted that the news was “a dream come true.”
