Shatta Wale, the Ghanaian singer, has reacted to his mother’s accusations of neglect.
In a recent video, Elsie Evelyn Avemegah, the singer’s mother, lamented her deteriorating health.
Elsie said she is battling “severe” health issues such as hypertension, adding that she needs financial assistance.
She disclosed that she has neither seen Wale for over ten years nor received any support from the singer.
“I haven’t spoken with my son for about 10 or more years now. He doesn’t know where I live and what I eat, but I think I can go with it like that,” she said.
“Now it has gotten to a time that my health is dropping and I am seriously ill, I am not well at all.”
Wale, while reacting to the accusations, slammed people who criticised him for not caring for his mother.
The singer claimed he rented an estate and bought cars for his mum but she “did not appreciate” his efforts.
“When I see people talking about my mother, I see them as people that don’t have sense. I bought my mother four cars and I rented an estate for my mother,” he said.
“But you come online to talk nonsense and say stupid things all because when I do good things for the people around me, they don’t really appreciate it.
“Do you know what my father and mother put me through? I slept on the streets and in filling stations.”
In 2022, the singer’s mother revealed that she had been evicted from her home after six years.
