Shakira sparks dating rumour with Hamilton — one year after split from Pique

Shakira Mebarak, the Colombian pop star, and Lewis Hamilton the Formula 1 driver, have sparked romance rumours after being spotted together. 

The rumours began to circulate after Shakira was seen at the Spanish Grand Prix on June 4, in Barcelona, rooting for the seven-time Formula 1 world champion.

“Nice to be back in Barcelona,” she wrote on Instagram along with a picture of her on the trackside.

On the same day, they also had dinner with friends at El Parco restaurant to celebrate Hamilton’s second-place finish.

Footage from the outing surfaced on social media and quickly went viral.

In the photos, Lewis and Shakira are seen seated next to one another alongside their friends. The F1 driver also appears to be holding the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker.

According to TMZ, the 46-year-old singer was also spotted last weekend on a boat in Miami with the 38-year-old racing driver.

Following the series of outings, a source told PEOPLE that Shakira and Hamilton are still getting to know each other and it has been “fun and flirty”.

“They are spending time together and in the ‘getting to know you stage’. It is fun and flirty,” the source was quoted to have said.

Shakira and Hamilton were first seen together last month.

While many fans have assumed the two are dating, they are yet to officially confirm the news.

The development comes about a year after the mother of two ended her 11-year relationship with Gerard Pique, the former Barcelona defender.

The couple parted ways in June last year after Pique was alleged to have cheated on her.
