In an interview with Cool FM, the singer said his family asked him to leave home at 15 because of difficult conditions.

The 23-year-old added that his family advised him to hustle and survive on his own than to “die” living with them.

“I left home when I was 15. Things were difficult in the ghetto, so I had to make way for myself. Even my own family freed me. They said, ‘Go, do not die here. It is better you go away and hustle for yourself’,” the singer said.

In August 2023, the singer recalled how living in Ikorodu, Lagos inspired him to go into music.

He recently revealed that he was scammed while trying to join StarBoy Entertainment, Wizkid’s record label, at the age of 13.

He said he sold his phone to pay a scammer who ended up blocking him.

“That was how I sold my phone and paid the guy N10,000 but after the payment he blocked me. He told me that he was Wizkid’s recruitment officer. I said I would come for the screening, I would perform and Wizkid would judge my performance. So I fell for it,” he said.
