VIDEO: Seyi Shay reveals baby’s gender

Oluwaseyi Joshua, the Nigerian singer better known as Seyi Shay, has revealed that she is expecting a baby girl.

The ‘Yolo Yolo’ crooner revealed the gender during a baby shower organised recently.

In an Instagram post on Monday, the singer shared a video of the event while appreciating her family and friends for planning the baby shower.

In the video, Seyi — who was surrounded by family and friends — popped a balloon to reveal more pink balloons, indicating that she was expecting a girl.

The singer also held unto her stomach and said, “It’s a girl, she’s sleeping right now.”

The news of the singer’s pregnancy came a few weeks after she announced that she was engaged.

The music star announced her engagement during an interview — although she kept mum on her lover’s identity.

When asked about the diamond ring on her finger, she said: “some guy gave it to me and said, ‘would you marry me?’ It’s really diamonds. Diamonds are forever.

“I’d already evolved. I was already glowing before I met the guy. He just added to the glow.”

In June last year, she disclosed that she feel pressured by fans to get married, have babies and share racy photos.

“Yeah, (I feel) pressure to get married; have a boyfriend; have babies. That’s all before the pressure to release a new single sometimes. Crazy right? Pressure to share more butt pictures. But it’s good,” she had said.

“It’s part of it. It’s what keeps me gingered. But I don’t burn myself out; I don’t overdo. I have a lot of videos and I’m always recording. Throughout this whole pandemic, I moved the studio to my house. I don’t just release.”
