Nigerian singer Seyi Shay has unveiled the trailer for ‘Lara and the Beat’, a movie produced by prolific filmmaker Biola Alabi.


The ‘Murda’ singer may be making a foray into Nollywood by taking up a major role in the forthcoming chick flick.

Seyi Shay plays the role of a socialite, diva and party girl.

The film takes viewers on a journey into the world of Lara Giwa, a diva with different shades of grey and her sister, Dara Giwa (Somkele Idhalama), who are entangled in a financial mess with their deceased parents’ media empire.


The sisters must learn to leave behind the past glory and build their future through music and enterprise.


The movie also features other Nigerian artistes including Vector, Sound Sultan, and DJ Xclusive.

‘Lara and the Beat’ will be premiered in theatres and available on Netflix on June 8.
