The entertainer spoke as a witness in the ongoing trial of the actor before the special offences court unit of the Lagos state high court on Monday.

Baba Ijesha is being tried on a six-count charge which includes sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault.

During the court session, Princess again gave her account of how she caught the 48-year-old molesting her daughter using closed-circuit television (CCTV).

The comedienne said shortly after she entered the room where the incident happened, he pleaded with her to keep the matter away from the public or allow him to commit suicide instead.

“When I entered the room where the incident occurred, he prostrated and started begging me. He said I can beat him or get something to hit him,” he said.

“Just like what my daughter told me, he (Baba Ijesha) narrated what he did after I caught him. He asked if we can allow him jump over the balcony or drink insecticide instead of handing her over to the police.

“He said he wanted to commit suicide. He also tried to bribe me, asked me to sell all he had so I can take the proceeds but I refused and insisted that the law must take its course in the matter.”

Princess said after his arrest, the actor again allegedly offered her money when police brought him to her house for a fact-finding exercise.

“At the police station, he kept begging. There was a point when the police brought him to my house for further investigation, he started begging and offered me money again in the presence of the officers,” she added.

Princess also recalled how she met Baba Ijesha in 2008 at an event and the pair started making skits together thereafter.

The actress said she had originally opposed working with the embattled actor because he attempted to woo her but later apologised after she confronted him.

Princess said the pair got close in 2013 after she had issues with her marriage until they fell apart when she learned of what allegedly transpired between him and her daughter.

The court had earlier admitted the CCTV footage submitted by Princess as evidence against Baba Ijesha.
