Kanye West says the spirit of Fela lives in him but Seun Kuti is not impressed.
The American rapper drew a comparison between himself and the Afrobeat pioneer in a video posted on Twitter.
In the video titled ‘Mind Control’, the rapper rambled non-stop about different things that he is not allowed to do, say and feel.
He said: “I am in Africa recording. The music is the best on the planet. I am the best living recording artiste… we, rather, because the spirit flows through me. The spirit of Fela, the spirit of Marley, the spirit of Pac flows through me.
“We know who the best is.”

Seun Kuti responded to the comment by saying, “on behalf of the Kuti family, I want to state that the spirit of Olufela Anikulapo Kuti isn’t anywhere near Kanye West”.
In the video, West also talked about how high is IQ level is and how it hurts him physically when he is being told what to do.
He said: “People trying to tell me what to do. I feel like they are touching my brain. That’s how it hurts me when people tell me what to do.
“People on social media. People trying to control my mind. It’s like a modern day psychological mind control.
The rapper also complained about his “big house” that “just never finished”.
He said: “It’s just costing money after money after money.”
The rapper was in 2017 treated for bipolar disorder after he suffered mental exhaustion.
