Singers Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have ended their relationship after being together for 10 months.
Gomez started seeing The Weeknd months after ending her on and off long-term romance with Canadian singer Justin Beiber.
People reports that the pair decided to part ways because things had been “hard for months”.
“She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them,” an insider was quoted as saying.
“It’s over for now, but they’re still in touch.”
The strain of distance and touring are said to have contributed to the end of their relationship.
“It’s been hard for them to come to the realization that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months.
“They are still talking and will remain friends. They have been very grown-up about it.”
Gomez was last weekend spotted having breakfast with Bieber, and this had led to speculations on the state of her relationship with The Weeknd.
The singer/actress, who had been battling lupus, in September revealed that she underwent a kidney transplant.
Her best friend Francia Raisa, who is also an actress, was the donor.
