Selena Gomez has shared her plans to adopt children if she is single at age 35.
In a recent interview with Time Magazine, the 31-year-old US music star opened up about her plans for family life.
Gomez said she was alone for five years and even embraced being single.
She added that she plans to adopt at 35 if she is not in a relationship.
“I was alone for five years, and I got used to it,” she said.
“A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone.
“I accepted it. Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”
Currently, Gomez is in a relationship with Benny Blanco, the American record producer.
She revealed that their romance was a surprise because she only considered him a friend at first.
“Initially, I only saw him as a friend, but then I realized I liked him. It just happens when you least expect it,” she added.
Gomez was previously in a brief relationship with The Weeknd, the music star.
Before The Weekend, she was in a highly publicised on-and-off romance with Justin Bieber.
The pair started dating in 2009 but parted ways in 2018.
