Segun Arinze, Nollywood actor, has reacted to a comment by John Dumelo, his Ghanaian colleague, that he will walk barefoot from Accra to Lagos if Nigeria beat the Black Stars in the first leg of the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off encounter.

Earlier on Friday, Dumelo took a dig at Nigeria ahead of the clash, saying “there’s no way” Super Eagles will win the first leg of the game.

“There’s no way Nigeria will win today’s match. If they do, I, John Setor Dumelo, will walk barefoot from Accra to Lagos tomorrow morning with my ginger on my head! Super eagles my foot!” the actor-cum-politician wrote.

His banter has stirred a plethora of laughter and hilarious responses from his Nigerian colleagues.

Reacting in the post’s comment section, Arinze told Dumelo that he would be denied entry into Nigeria after the Black Stars have been thrashed.

He also mocked the nickname of the Ghanaian national team, saying “stars are shining bright, not black.”

“Don’t even bother trekking to Lagos. Cos, we shall deny you entry at the Border after trashing you. By the way, Stars are shining and bright not Black. Black connotes Darkness. Eagles fly and ours are super,” Arinze wrote.

Nigeria and Ghana will slug it out at the 40,000–capacity Baba Yara Stadium at 8:30 pm today.

The return leg is scheduled to take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium four days later.

The winner of the tie will earn one of the five tickets for Africa at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
