Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, has appointed Pelumi Nubi, the travel content creator who drove from London to Lagos, as tourism ambassador.
Nubi arrived in Lagos on April 7 after spending over two months on the road.
The appointment was announced via Nubi’s Instagram page on Monday.
She also shared a video wherein Sanwo-Olu gifted her a car with a customised plate number.
While appreciating the governor for his “warm reception”, Nubi added she was also gifted a house and all expenses for her trip paid for.
“This is getting too much, Lagos my city. Lord, how do I get here? Thank you Jesus. Meet the newest brand ambassador of tourism in Lagos state,” she wrote.
“Grateful to his excellency, the governor of Lagos state, Jide Sanwoolu, for the warm reception, generous gift of all expenses on my London to Lagos trip paid for, new car with my customised plate number (NUBI-9ja), a beautiful home in Lagos.
“Truly God’s blessings overflow. Congratulations to us guys. Lumi now has a sister.”

In November, Nubi announced her intention to embark on a solo trip from London to Lagos.
She commenced the trip on January 30 in a Peugeot 107.
Nubi travelled across 17 countries. Her itinerary took her from England to France, Spain, Morocco, and through the West Sahara Desert, all by road.
She drove through Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, and Benin before arriving in Lagos.
After her feat, Julius Aregbe, special adviser on tourism, arts and culture in Lagos, described her as a “role model for other young Lagosians”.
