Hillary Vincent, project manager of Sammie Okposo, has denied claims that the gospel singer slumped.
Okposo passed away on Friday. He was said to have slumped at his residence in Lagos state.
But speaking with Punch, Vincent said the singer died in his sleep.
“It is not true that Sammie slumped and died. That report is false. At the right time, the family will set the records straight. But, I can tell you authoritatively that he did not slump. Rather, he just did not wake up from his sleep,” he said.
“As regards the funeral arrangements, the details will be made known by the family. But right now, they are still in grief and mourning the departed singer.”
Okposo’s death has continued to elicit mixed reactions.
Apostle Johnson Suleman had earlier called out the church for not giving the singer the needed support during his trying moment.
“Now they post his pictures…but never reached out in his trying times.. He told me what pastors did to him and we both wept.. Love has left the church… “We have more ‘lawyers’ who are ready to judge than intercessors ready to restore.. Rest in power my brother.. You conquered!” he had written.
Abel Damina, the CEO and founder of KLN TV and power city international, also accused the church of being “cruel and wicked towards Okposo.”
