In a recent statement released by Jamal Balogun, the actor’s son, the family expressed gratitude for the public’s support during the difficult time.

The statement described Zeenat as “a warrior who gave her life” and “an embodiment of joy, acceptance, and resilience”.

“Zeenat Jolade Balogun was a warrior who gave life her all. She was the embodiment of joy, acceptance, and resilience. More than anything else, she was HOPE, as she was a die-hard believer in the phrase “never give up”,” the statement reads in part.

“She had the wisdom of a family matriarch, guiding the family only with love. Zeenat extended genuine friendship to everyone she encountered, no matter the circumstances of the acquaintance. All these loving qualities she shared with so many people serve as her lasting legacy.

“Her parting words were, “Ko de wa ri be ooo, in time, popsy mo ma change,” an imitation of a family staff member.”
