A Twitter war broke out on Saturday between some users from South Africa and Nigeria after the former claimed that the latter was responsible for “majority of crimes committed in their country, including prostitution and illegal drug trade.”

Trouble started after a video of a South African lady surfaced on the social media platform in which she can be seen dancing semi-clad in front of some Nigerian men in a room.

In the now-viral video, the men can be seen smoking and drinking while they cheered the lady on as she danced while baring her backside.

The video has since sparked outrage among a number of South African users who requested that their counterparts pack up and leave their country.

Using the hashtag #NigerianMustFall, they also accused Nigerians of peddling drugs and luring their ladies into prostitution, drug abuse and also raping them.

The accusations were not taken lightly by some Nigerian users who also registered their annoyance on Twitter.

“Is South Africa so free of crime that it’s just Nigerians perpetrating all the crimes? Is the SA Police so inefficient that the Nigerian culprits cannot be arrested? This isn’t about condoning bad behaviour of Nigerians but this hashtag #NigeriansMustFall depicts real hate,” a Twitter user said.

“I am a big fan of justice. Attack me if you like but Nigerians should go home. #NigeriansMustFall,” another user said.
