Runway Jazz, an event that brings jazz music and fashion to the same stage, has returned to do it bigger and better.
The 2018 edition of the event is dedicated to the memory of Hugh Ramapolo Masekela, a South African trumpeter, flugelhornist, cornetist, composer and singer.
Artistes on the performance lineup includes Grammy winner Gerald Albright, Sweet Sound band, Tiwa Savage, Heavy Wind, Beyond Vocal, Sarah Boulos and the Society for Performing Arts in Nigeria (SPAN).
Afolabi Kehinde Oke, founder of Runaway Jazz, told TheCable Lifestyle that “you will see a different Tiwa Savage” on the Runway Jazz stage.
According to Oke, Universal Music Nigeria is responsible for the production of the event which will be hosted by MC Abbey.
Runway Jazz will take place on Sunday, April 29 at the EKO Hotel and Suites, while a masterclass will hold a day prior on Saturday, April 28.
Dolapo Osinbajo, founder of Step Up, and Tiwa Savage are two of the personalities who will speak at the fashion and music masterclass.
In 2017, Grammy award winners, Joss Stone and Najee headlined the event where talented jazz musicians like Tosin Alao, Dede Mabiakwu, and Xerona Duke performed.
Guests at the 2017 event included John Bray, US consul general, Donald Duke, Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Tony Elumelu, among others.
