Members of the British royal family have registered their well-wishes as Archie, a son to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, marks his first birthday.
Prince William and Kate Middleton took to social media on Wednesday to share their throwback family photo from Archie’s christening.
“Wishing Archie a very happy first birthday today!,” William and Kate’s official Instagram account captioned the photo.
A photo was also shared on the royal family’s official handle showing Queen Elizabeth smiling down on Archer, who doubles as her eighth great-grandchild.
She can be seen alongside Prince Charles, her husband; Harry, and Meghan, and Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mom.
“Happy Birthday to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor who is celebrating his 1st birthday today!,” the post’s caption read.
The Clarence House, Prince Charles’ office, also followed suit with a black and white photo showing three generations — the Prince of Wales, Harry, and Archie in his christening gown.
“A very Happy Birthday to Archie, who turns one today. This photo of Archie and his grandfather was taken following his christening in July 2019,” the post read.
Meghan had given birth to Archie at Portland Hospital in Westminster on May 6, 2019.
“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019,” the couple had said.
“Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thanks members of the public for their shared excitement and support.”
