Rotimi, Nigerian-born US actor, says his father made him save all proceeds made after staring in ‘Power’, an American television series.

The singer cum movie star, real name Olurotimi Akinosho, made this revelation on ‘For The Record’, a show anchored by DJ Abass, a Nigerian disc jockey.

Rotimi, who debuted his career as an actor with a leading role in ‘Boss’, a US political television serial, said his father also provided him with financial advice when he got his first acting job.

“I made six figures from that deal (Boss). He only gave me 25 or 20 thousand out of it to live off. He saved and invested the rest,” he recounted.

“So then, I was starting to get popular. He made me save all my ‘Power’ money. all my ‘Power’ cheques, the contracts, I haven’t touched one dollar. I lived off my endorsement and hostings.

The talented actor, who starred as Andre Coleman in the ongoing series, added that he recently spent out of the proceeds in order to buy his house.

“So I have been sitting on a certain amount of money for five to six years that I haven’t even touched. The first time I touched that money was to buy my house,” he said.

In April, the ‘Power’ star released ‘Love Riddim’ an Afro-Fusion song. This was followed by ‘Walk With Me’, an extended play featuring Jamaican Vanessa Bling.
