Basketmouth, the comedian, is venturing into filmmaking with ‘A Ghetto Love Story’.

Recently, the 46-year-old funnyman shared a clip of his interaction with RMD on Instagram; wherein the ace actor offered him some words of wisdom.

During the chat, the 63-year-old film star congratulated the comedian on his new movie — set to be released on November 22.

He also emphasised the importance of seeking guidance from established filmmakers like Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, AY, and Kunle Afolayan.

“Congratulations on your new film ‘A Ghetto Love Story’. I say make I call you, hail you first and then give you advice. You know you are entering a place where people have already established. Hold ground. You fit press things for different places. This is not comedy. Do not do it anyhow. This na film,” he said.

“When you enter, go find people wey hold ground. People wey dey control the whole area. All of them like Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, AY, Kunle Afolayan and other people wey dey do film well. Wey be oga. Call them. Tell them you want to know one or two things. Comedy with Buchi fit work, but that na after you don pay respect to people wey hold ground.”

Basketmouth and AY, two of Nigeria’s most famous stand-up comedians, were not on talking terms for 17 years.

But last October, Basketmouth apologized to AY. He asked his colleague to forgive him, adding that “I just want us to live in peace and harmony”.

It remains to be seen if AY has forgiven him.

AY ventured into Nollywood in 2014 after producing his first film titled ’30 Days in Atlanta’.

He has also produced award-winning films like ‘A Trip To Jamaica,’ ‘Christmas in Miami’ and ‘Merry Men’.
