Years before his son ever stepped into a recording booth, the global superstar Wizkid had already laid out a playful yet ambitious plan for his first child Boluwatife Balogun.

Back in 2015, during an interview with MTV Base, the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker was shown a clip of a young Boluwatife enthusiastically singing along to one of his father’s tracks.

A laughing Wizkid recounted the moment: “My son is singing the lyrics to my song. He’s singing, ‘your bumbum is bigger than Bombay’”.

The Grammy winner declared that should Boluwatife become an artiste, he would sign him to his Starboy record label on a lifetime contract.

“If my son ends up being an artiste, that’s more money for me. I’ll just sign him to Starboy on a lifetime contract, we’ll keep it in the family,” he said.

“I’m not even going to sign any other artiste again.”

On Sunday, Boluwatife, Wizkid’s son with Shola Ogudu, shared a video of himself in a professional studio, previewing a snippet of his debut single, believed to be titled ‘Champion Montana’.

The clip quickly ignited excitement across social media, with fans and users alike praising the emerging talent for what many described as a “fire track”.

While Boluwatife is the first to step into the music scene, he is not Wizkid’s only child. The artiste also has a son with Binta Diallo, and two sons and a daughter with his manager Jada Pollock.
