Cardi B, American rapper and TV personality, has sent the Nigerian Twittersphere into overdrive following her move to “pick a tribe” — after indicating interest to become a citizen.
On Friday, the ‘Bodak’ rapper had reacted to a Donald Trump-inspired attack on Iran with a tweet, accusing the US president of “putting Americans live in danger”.
Cardi B also warned that she could file for Nigerian citizenship.
“Naaaaa these memes are fuckin. But shit ain’t no joke! Specially being from New York,” she had written.
“‘Its sad this man is putting Americans live in danger. Dumbest move Trump did till date. ‘I’m filing for my Nigerian citizenship.’”

Shortly after the first tweet, the Grammy award-winning rapper pondered on what tribe to pick in the country.

Her tweets have since generated lots of suggestions and conversation on social media platforms, especially Twitter, where users are registering their diverse opinions.
