‘You think we grow money behind our house?’ — reactions as Apple’s iPhone 12 rumours boom

Speculations that Apple, an American multinational tech company, is set to put out the iPhone 12 series — barely two months after releasing the iPhone 11 series — have shut down the Nigerian Twittersphere.

Photos of the supposed phone design leaked on the internet on Tuesday, prompting a plethora of reactions from social media users, who appear to be shocked and worried about the new development.

The high-end handset is rumoured to have a quad camera and in-screen fingerprint scanner and will have a design similar to the much older iPhone 4 series.

Despite the proposed release date being sometime in the year 2o2o, some Nigerians have taken to Twitter to express their take on the development using hilarious memes and comments.

Talks of the phone designs and accessories have since dominated the conversation on the microblogging platform as it currently top the Twitter trends.

“iPhone 12 is already coming out? Apple must think we are growing money behind our house,” a Twitter user said.

“After selling my kidney to buy iPhone 7 and iPhone 12 is coming out,” another user joked.
