R. Kelly’s lawyer, Brian Nix, has threatened to sue Lifetime Network over the damning ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ documentary series.
The famous R&B singer’s lawyer has sent a legal letter warning the network that he may file a federal lawsuit if it failed to pull the plug on the special series.
‘Surviving R. Kelly’ is a six-part documentary series that uncovers the famous R&B singer’s alleged history of sexual abuse.
R. Kelly has, over the years, been accused of keeping multiple young women against their will in an abusive sex “cult”, among other allegations of paedophilia, mental, sexual and physical misconduct levelled against him.
Despite the allegations, Aaliyah’s mother, Diane Haughton, has said it is untrue that R.Kelly was once caught having sex with her daughter on a tour bus.
“These lies and fabrications cannot be tolerated and allowed to be spewed from the forked tongue of saboteurs of Aaliyah’s legacy. Shame on all those involved in this project who thought it kosher to drag Aaliyah’s name into a situation that has nothing to do with her today,” she had said.
R.Kelly has maintained that his accusers are making false allegations to become famous and claims to have two recordings proving Lifetime was aware that “some of the girls are lying, but that the budget was too high to turn back now”.
