West, who produced the entire ‘Daytona’ album, is said to have bought the cover art, a picture of Whitney Houston’s drug-covered bathroom, for $85, 000.

A crack pipe, pack of cigarettes, and white powder feature in the 2006 picture.

The image was released to the public following Houston’s death at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Los Angeles, in February 2012.

According to Pusha T, West changed the album cover last minute. The G.O.O.D Music president said: “He changed my artwork at 1 a.m. ’cause he wasn’t feeling it.”

The picture has drawn West condemnation by a section of Twitter, a pattern the rapper is now very much accustomed to.

But some have chosen to disregard the disturbing album art and focus on the “genius” of the super producer on Pusha T’s album.

Daytona was originally titled King Push. It is the follow-up to ‘King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude’, released in December 2015.

West and Rick Ross are the only featured rappers on the album.
