Portable, the controversial singer, has reached out to Fuji musician Pasuma to sponsor his trip to Mecca for Hajj.
The singer’s request comes after securing a N2 million bail following his arraignment on Thursday at an Abeokuta magistrate court on a five-count charge, including assault.
Portable had surrendered to the police a day after being declared wanted for allegedly assaulting Ogun officials. His case was adjourned until March 5 for trial.
In a post via his Instastory, Portable shared a chat with Pasuma, requesting sponsorship for his Hajj trip.
Pasuma responded positively, asking how he could assist. Portable explained that he wants to perform Hajj to “thank God”.
“Oga mi, pls carry me go Mecca. I want go thank God,” the chat reads, although it was not revealed if Pasuma responded.
In another post, Portable said he is now focused on making money and avoiding trouble.
“No more wahala, na money I dey look for. If you no get money call God,” he wrote in pidgin English.
The singer has been embroiled in controversy after allegedly leading a gang in a violent attack on Ogun officials. The officials attempted to seal his bar due to a lack of approved permits. Nine of his associates were arrested and arraigned on a five-count charge, with bail set at N5 million each.
Portable had sought the assistance of Femi Falana, the human rights lawyer. He also pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to intervene.
