‘I’m now thankfully negative’ — Pink donates $1m to fight COVID-19 after weeks with disease

Alecia Beth Moore, US singer better known as Pink, has donated the sum of $1 million to the fight against COVID-19 after testing positive for the disease two weeks ago. 

The 40-year-old musician took to her Instagram page on Friday to disclose that she had spent two weeks in isolation with Jameson, her 3-year-old son, after she tested positive for the novel virus.

The duo, however, tested negative for the deadly coronavirus a few days ago.

“Two weeks ago my three-year-old son, Jameson, and I were showing symptoms of COVID-19. Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive,” she wrote.

“My family was already sheltering at home and continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago, we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative.”

Additionally, I am donating $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund. THANK YOU to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones. You are our heroes! These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. The gifted songwriter also used the platform to attack the US government over the lack of tests for the coronavirus.

She also had some words for her numerous fans on the pandemic.
