Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA) hosted the 2025 edition of its flagship event TALP X (TAFTA Action Learning Project) on Saturday.

TALP X was held at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island. The electrifying three-hour showcase featured bold storytelling and captivating performances by TAFTA trainees.

TALP X solidified its reputation as a vital stage for Nigeria’s emerging creative talent, with four original productions blending drama, music, and satire. Each performance highlighted the academy’s commitment to nurturing skilled storytellers and performers.

The show opened with ‘Gbas Gbos’, a hilarious yet thought-provoking family drama that explored the consequences of a heated domestic dispute, sparking reflections on culture, relationships, and accountability.

Next, ‘You Say!’ lifted spirits with a vibrant mix of live music and stand-up comedy, charming the audience with witty, relatable tales.

In stark contrast, ‘Endgame’ delivered a poignant narrative on toxic relationships and their emotional scars, emphasizing self-worth and the power of setting boundaries.

The finale ‘Jigida’ captivated with its satirical take on patriarchal norms, celebrating resilience and collective defiance.

Bamike ‘BamBam’ Adenibuyan, TAFTA ambassador, praised the event as both entertaining and educational, commending the performers for their dedication and skill.

On his part, Joseph Umoibom, TAFTA’s academy lead, highlighted the programme’s impact.

TAFTA offers free training in scriptwriting, sound and lighting design, animation, and arts entrepreneurship. Through a blend of digital and in-person instruction, students receive hands-on mentorship and industry tools to thrive in the creative sector.

Graduates are grouped into production teams to develop and stage original plays, with TALP serving as the ultimate showcase.
