A heavily attended premiere for the crime drama was held on Sunday at the IMAX cinema in Lekki, Lagos.

The event started with the red carpet which united actors, film executives, and TV presenters in an intimate setting.

This was followed by the viewing of the film that extended late into the night.

Other entertainers who graced the event were Tobi Bakre, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Mr. Macaroni, Femi Adebayo, Kehinde Bankole, and Nancy Isime.

The prequel for the film followed the story of a former drug smuggler who got more than she bargained for after a businessman hired her to assist in his scheme of marrying a wealthy heiress.

Things quickly turn for the worse as she realises that there is more to the scheme than meets the eye.

‘The Set-Up 2’, the sequel, is however set four years after the events of the prequel.

Chike (Adesua) has barely come to terms with her life as an agent for an international organisation.

She is forced to risk everything she holds dear once again to go after a criminal named Usi (Isime) who kidnaps Grace’s (Bankole) daughter in order to blackmail Chike into doing her bidding.

Chike and Grace must reunite and build a new team to take down Usi and save Grace’s daughter.

‘The Set-Up 2’, written and directed by Chinaza Onuzo, is to hit the cinema on August 12.

It stars Adesua, Jim Iyke, Bankole, Tina Mba, Uzor Arukwe, Henshaw, Isime, Chukwujekwu, Nze, Lota Chukwu, Tope Olowoniyan, and Lillian Afegbai.

Speaking on her experience starring in the film, Henshaw told TheCable Lifestyle: “It was a bit hectic because of the hours of the shoot.

“Apart from that, I worked with fantastic actors and a patient director. Look out for action and suspense.”

On his part, Onuzo, said: “For the sequel, we had to broaden the world, not wanting to make the exact same film [as the prequel]. We’re hoping for a good opening at the cinema. We’re to break N150,000,000 in the box office at a minimum.”
