In a gathering aimed at driving cultural and economic change, influential women from across Nigeria’s creative industries convened for the ‘Women Driving Culture’ luncheon in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Hosted by serial entrepreneur and Livespot360 co-founder Deola Art Alade, the event brought together a formidable roster of leaders in film, fashion, media, tech, and public policy, including rapper Sasha P, filmmaker Ruth Kadiri, and Busola Tejumola, head of content at MultiChoice West Africa.
Speaking at the event, Art Alade emphasised the importance of women in shaping impactful conversations that can “change rooms, culture, and future generations”.
The entrepreneur also framed the luncheon as more than a celebration but a gathering of women with a transformative and progressive mindset.
“When women are intentional about lifting other women, the impact goes far beyond one person. We change rooms, we change systems, we shape what’s possible for the next generation. Today is a celebration, but it is also an invitation to connect, to share and to leave here thinking about who you can move forward,” she said.
The guest list included Lisa Folawiyo, the fashion entrepreneur; Toke Benson‑Awoyinka, Lagos commissioner for tourism, arts & culture; Titi Ogufere, founder of Design Week Lagos; and Korty Eniola, the filmmaker.
Others were Funmbi Ogunbanwo, co-founder of Fatherland productions; Leslie Okoye, founder of Cookie Skin; Henny Zinzuwadia, an award-winning sommelier; Yemisi Falaye, an entertainment lawyer; and Blossom Maduafokwa, an editor at Nataal and the Grammys.
Also present were key figures such as Bukunmi Grace, talent manager; Osayi Alile, CEO of Act Foundation; Sade Teyibo, founder of FOLA PR; Addy Awofisayo, head of YouTube Music, Sub-Saharan Africa; Stephanie Busari, journalist; Director Pink, film director; and Lamide Akintobi, TV producer at CNN.
Discussions focused on critical barriers and opportunities within the creative economy, including access to capital, authentic African storytelling, and cross-sector collaboration.
The dialogue emphasised collective influence on policy, platforms, and professional pipelines to foster mentorship and partnership.
The luncheon was supported by Livespot360, Moet & Chandon, M·A·C Cosmetics and Estée Lauder.
