Netflix hosted a glamorous ‘Light, Camera… Naija’ event to celebrate its partnership with Nigerian filmmakers and stakeholders on Saturday.
The star-studded event which was held at the Royal Box event centre in Victoria Island brought together industry heavyweights, including Jide Kosoko, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Ramsey Nouah, and Kate Henshaw.
Other notable attendees included Shaffy Bello, Femi Adebayo, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Adunni Ade, Bimbo Akintola, Kunle Remi, Olarotimi Fakunle, Tobi Bakre, and Alexx Ekubo.
Government officials in attendance were Hannatu Musawa, minister of arts, culture, tourism and creative economy; and Obi Asika, director general of the National Council for Arts and Culture. Ben Amadasun, Netflix’s vice president for Middle East and Africa, also graced the occasion.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, resplendent in a blue tuxedo, hosted the event, which showcased stunning fashion styles adhering to the ‘Carabet Chic’ dress code. Celebrities dazzled in various shades of red and black.
‘Light, Camera… Naija’ is an annual event aimed to recognize actors who have benefited from Netflix. It also fosters collaboration between Netflix, filmmakers, and industry stakeholders.
The evening highlighted Netflix’s commitment to promoting Nigerian storytelling and talent globally.
