Nigerian superstars Wande Coal and Young Jonn headlined the explosive opening night of the Detty December Fest, officially kicking off a month-long celebration of music and nightlife in Lagos.

The grand opening concert took place on Friday, December 6, 2025, at the Ilubirin venue in Ikoyi.

The event is designed as a multi-stage experience to capture the full spirit of Nigeria’s globally recognized festive season.

The audience was treated to a series of electrifying performances. Wande Coal and producer-artiste Young Jonn were joined on stage by acts including rapper Ice Prince, singer Darey Art Alade, hypeman Jerry Shaffer, and artiste Fola. Selectors DJ Deluxe and DJ YK kept the energy high throughout the night.

A standout moment came from the international performance troupe, the Zenit Aerial Ballerinas from Spain, who delivered a cinematic and exquisite aerial display.

The Detty December Fest is scheduled to run until December 31, 2025, across two major Lagos venues: Ilubirin in Ikoyi and The Livespot Entertarium on Oba Elegushi Beach Road in Lekki.

The festival’s lineup promises more major acts. Previously unveiled international headliners include American rap icon Busta Rhymes and Tanzanian star Juma Jux, alongside Nigerian street-pop sensation Bella Shmurda.

American rapper and singer Gunna was recently unveiled as the latest act to join the lineup of headliners. He would take the center stage on December 29.
