Petra Akinti Onyegbule has been appointed as the first ever female chief press secretary in Kogi state.
Onyegbule’s appointment, which commenced on October 1st, also makes her the first in her position in northern Nigeria.
Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi state, on Tuesday confirmed Onyegbule’s appointment.
Prior to her new designation, Petra was Bello’s senior special assistant on electronic media.
Onyegbule took over office from Kinglsey Fahun, who is now the Director-General on media and publicity.
The appointment came about due to a reshuffle by the government.
Other offices also affected by the reshuffle are that of former senior special assistant on new media, Gbenga Olorunpomi, who’s now the senior special assistant on electronic media, having replaced Petra.
Jewel Odaubu is the new senior special assistant on new media.
