Pete Edochie has questioned what he termed an obsession with cosmetic surgery among ladies.

The actor spoke in the latest episode of his periodic chat with Adakarl TV which was uploaded on his Instagram page.

“Today, it’s difficult to find a girl who is still what she is. You wear false hair, lashes, boobs, asses. I don’t know what is still natural about you, let’s be honest. Why must our girls be obsessed with these things? I don’t know,” he said.

“I would want them to insult me and tell me why they love these things. I don’t mind being insulted. I mean, I’m used to it. Some girls now die while they’re trying to operate and inflate their asses. May the good Lord help us.”

Last year, Adepoju Anu, a Lagos doctor, was arraigned after a failed cosmetic surgery resulted in the death of her client. This had come at about the same time when MedContour Services Ltd, her medical facility, was shut down.

The development led to her suspension by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

Adepoju, however, hit back at her critics and blamed the complications on the disobedience of post-surgery rules.

In May, another lady, who denied being aware of Anu’s past records, accused her of carrying out a failed cosmetic surgery that left her with fat necrosis — a condition where a person suffers an injury to an area of fatty tissue.

Apart from these, many female figures in entertainment have publicly admitted to undergoing cosmetic surgery.

Many of them, among other reasons, had cited the need to boost their confidence and better their physique.
