Paul ‘Rudeboy’ Okoye, the Nigerian singer, says the rift between him and his brother is more complicated than it appears.
The feud between Peter Okoye and Paul, which began in 2017, led the brothers to split their group Psquare and pursue solo careers.
Though they reunited in November 2021, their reconciliation was short-lived.
Paul recently revealed another fallout, accusing Peter of orchestrating his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Peter, however, denied the allegations and accused Jude Okoye, their older brother, of diverting millions of dollars from their joint account into a secret company.
Responding to the accusations, Jude said he had done everything possible, even “sacrificing himself,” to mend the rift between his brothers.
In a recent episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, Paul revealed that he has decided to no longer address his rift with Peter publicly due to constant misinterpretation.
Without delving into specifics, Paul acknowledged the feud but emphasized his continued love and concern for Peter and Jude.
He appealed to fans to respect whatever resolution the family ultimately chooses.
“I don’t think I owe anybody any explanation this time anymore because there is so much twist about the whole issue,” he said.
“They are my brothers I still love them. What is going on inside is bigger than what you guys think is going on. Let’s just respect the family, you cannot separate it anymore. It is still family.
“There are so many emotions going on now. Fans, drop your weapon. We all have problems in our family.”
Recently, Rudeboy questioned why their brotherly bond has to be affected by their professional disagreements.
