David Oyedepo, presiding bishop of the Living Faith Church (LFC), says he disconnected his telephone for one month after he got an exorbitant bill from NITEL.

Oyedepo said his bill for that particular month exceeded his telephone budget.

The cleric said this on Wednesday at the Excellence in Leadership Conference holding at Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos.

Oyedepo noted that he was amazed when he saw a newspaper publication which showed that Nigerians spent roughly N440 billion naira per month on telephone calls, as at May 2014.

An average Nigerian, he says, doesn’t budget for the airtime they consume per month but rather “pay as they go”.

He advised that people should learn to be self-disciplined and make budget as to how their income would be spent, and added that what is not well managed would definitely be damaged.
