Oxlade, the Nigerian singer, has alleged that he is being blackmailed and boycotted in the music industry.

In a freestyle on Glitch Africa, the singer claimed that “gatekeepers” are “boycotting” him.

He also alleged that some established artistes, which he called “OGs”, are “blackmailing” him.

“Many boys don dey sound like me and still many boys don dey backbit me. Why me? Some gatekeepers don dey boycott me. Some OGs don dey blackmail me,” he sings.

Oxlade earlier revealed he lost endorsement deals worth over N400 million after his sex tape got leaked in 2022.

He said the video had been used to blackmail him for two years before its release.

The singer added that the experience affected his mental health.

“It was a peace of mind for me because I was getting blackmailed for two years. The content had existed way before they brought it out or they had a reason to break it out. I paid the blackmail money, trust me,” he said.

“When it came out, I was like finally. But that was not the sad effect, the sad effect was hearing my grandma cry, asking me if I was going to be the one to end her. It affected my family but it definitely affected my mental health.”

Oxlade started to gain attention after he came through with ‘Away’, his 2020 hit single.

The hit track also made the Rolling Stone Top 50 best song list of 2020, spurring him into the limelight.

The singer is signed to Troniq Music, Epic Records in France, and Columbia Records in the United Kingdom.
