Following the suspension, Ademola Adeleke, the state governor, has appointed Kehinde Alabi as the acting rector of the institution.
In a letter, the permanent secretary said the appointment is with immediate effect “pending the time the allegations against him (Odetayo) are properly investigated by relevant bodies”.
“You are hereby appointed as the acting rector of the Osun State Polytechnic Iree. The appointment takes immediate effect. We wish you a successful tenure in office,” the letter reads.
Until his appointment, Alabi was a lecturer in the department of general studies at the institution.
