Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, has welcomed the arrival of a baby boy with Moronke Naomi Silekunola, his wife.
The monarch took to his Twitter page on Wednesday to officially break the good news.
While congratulating Silekunola on her successful delivery, he noted that she has birthed the family an heir to the throne.
“To God be the glory great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Silekunola who today birthed a Prince to the Royal throne of Oduduwa,” the traditional ruler wrote.
“Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty.”

The news of the prince’s birth comes more than two years after the monarch had stated that he was taking Silekunola as his new wife.
“It is the beginning of your wisdom on this throne of Oduduwa,” he had said on October 18, 2018. “You are welcome home my beautiful and adorable queen. #OoniOfIfe #Otisese.”

In July, the traditional ruler had adopted an artist after the 17-year-old boy drew his portrait with a pencil.
“17-year-old Samuel who is just about to graduate from secondary school has been adopted by me, his fees till his tertiary education will be taken care of by me, and he will be gainfully employed right here in my palace,” he had said.
“It’s clear that if we all work together as a people, irrespective of our special positions or privileged social status, we can deliver access to sustainable socioeconomic opportunity that suit our people.”
