Mother-in-law to Omoni Oboli, a Nollywood actress and film director, has passed away at 75.
The movie star took to her Instagram page on Monday night to break the sad news.
“Our matriarch mrs Oboli. We will miss you. No words,” she wrote in a terse post accompanying a picture of the deceased.
Nnamdi Oboli, her husband, also penned a lengthy post on his Instagram page to mourn his mother.
In the post, Nnamdi described the death of his mother as a huge loss, noting that she was a strong figure in the family who had significant influence on him and others.
“Saddest day ever!!! My dear mum has passed on. I can’t imagine a moment without her being around, with her strong, vibrant and ever concerned self,” he wrote.
“She is the mum like no other, a matriarch of the Oboli family that stood as a dividing wall between the world and us as she was like a mother hen with her chicks.”
“Her council, strength, rigor at discipline and work ethic as legendary and appreciated by all who knew her well.
“I have a lot to say about this great woman, but the pain is still fresh and the thought of her passing still unsavory.”
The septuagenarian’s death comes about three months after she marked her 75th birthday.
