Fans were said to have bought tickets worth $50 (regular) and $100 (VIP), in anticipation of the show and seeing their two favourite artistes on one stage.

However, both Olamide and Phyno didn’t show up for the event as fans were told by the promoter that Phyno had taken ill and couldn’t make it to the show.

Feeling cheated and defrauded, fans decided to stage a violent protest, damaging properties at the event venue and causing the police to intervene.

Both artistes who kept mum for some time, have now come out to clarify what really happened.

According to a signed statement by both parties of YBNL and Penthauze Entertainment, the duo explained why they failed to perform denying that Phyno was sick.

Apparently, they had a fall out with the event promoter, Prince George Entertainment when he breached an earlier agreement.

The statement reads: “We humbly apologize to our fans who bought tickets for The Culture Tour in Canada. Olamide and Phyno love and adore their fans and did everything within their power to ensure they performed at the event.

“However the promoter Prince George Entertainment defaulted on our agreement. It was announced at the venue during the show that Phyno was sick and he couldn’t perform which is a lie. Phyno wasn’t sick and was/is in good health.

“Olamide and Phyno met up with all obligations to make the event a success and were present in Canada ready to perform but the promoter Prince George Entertainment refused to honor our agreement.

“Our humble apologies once more as we understand a lot of fans sacrificed so much to be at the event.”
