Simpson was sentenced to prison after he was found guilty for armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and 10 other charges over a 2007 confrontation at a Las Vegas hotel.

Following a board hearing deliberating his appeal for an early parole release, Simpson’s request was approved by the panel in July.

The former athlete was acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goodman In 1995.
