According to Nigerian Tribune, the incident occured on Monday after two students of BBHS were said to have been stabbed to death during an unofficial inter-school gambling competition reported to have been held the previous week.

An eyewitness, who narrated the incident to the news platform, said the rampaging students were armed with dangerous weapons which made students and the management staff of Ilugun High School scamper for safety.

The furor, it was gathered, forced shop owners and other businesses operating within the area to abandon their wares while commercial drivers deserted the area as the fight lasted.

A shop owner in the area who returned to her shop after security operatives had restored normalcy claimed that the two students of BBHS in question were stabbed to death with broken bottles during the gambling game.

“One of the BBHS students stabbed died last Friday, while the second one died on Sunday,” the source was quoted as saying.

“But the students of BBHS were not happy about the incident and that was why they came out in violent protest against students of Ilugun High School today.”
