The police in Ogun have left tongues wagging on social media after the command shared a promotional post on Omotola Odutola, its spokesperson.
On Saturday, the handler of the command’s X — the rebranded name for Elon Musk’s Twitter — page eulogised Odutola while describing her as an “exceptional officer who is different from others”.
The tweet also paid attention to Odutola’s “beautiful, gorgeous and radiant face”.
The post was accompanied by the phone number of the spokesperson.
“Have u (you) seen a beautiful officer today. A seasoned police officer that is different from Olopa. See the gorgeous and radiant face of your humble, brilliant, foremost, viable and indeed indefatigable Ogun state PRO, SP Omotola Odutola, anipr, psc. She can be reached on 09159578888,” the post reads.

The post has continued to elicit a wave of mixed reactions on the platform.
While some users commended the PRO’s “beauty”, others argued that it is an “unprofessional” attempt by the command to get validation from the public.
A few other users also insinuated that the tweet is an attempt to “get a male suitor” for Odutola.
“As an officer of the law, it is very wrong for you to use your uniform and using your police command to tweet this kind of stuffs, the Nigerian police seriously needs to discipline you and your likes,” a user wrote.
“Pimping your female officers, no?” another user asked.
Below are what Nigerians had to say on the microblogging platform:
Why does this sound like they are trying to pimp her? https://t.co/lVenX7eiT3

Does she not still ask motorist for egunje "bribe"? Aside that their your pay is nothing to write home about especially in this hard time of high inflation in the country, I learnt that the police service commission doesn't consider the welfare of the Nigeria police important.

What do you mean “different from Olopa”? Coming from a Yorùbá State police command, but what is all this rubbish!?
— @AnofeGafa (@AnofeGafa) July 30, 2023
I am glad even the Nigeria police recognized that Nigeria actually have two set of police officers. The seasoned police officers and the Olapas. If the Olapas hold u for road, two things are involved.. nor be me wan talk the two things sha 😂😂
