Odumodublvck, the Nigerian rapper, has recounted how he lost his father.
In a post via X on Wednesday, Odumodublvck revealed that his dad died at home because his family could not afford a hospital bed space of N70,000.
The rapper said his difficult experience is why he believes no artiste paved the way for his musical success.
The ‘Declan Rice’ hitmaker said although he was inspired by other rappers, “no artiste paved the way for me”.
“When my father died my family was poor. We could not pay hospital bed space of 70k. We had to take him home,” he wrote.
“Coming to tell me about paving the way for me? That is God, brother. No use your ego counter reason my reality, bros. I agree say you inspire me. But bros, you pave the way for nobody. Nobody!. I hate when n*ggas try to play God.”
His statement comes days after Eedris Abdulkareem, the ace rapper, claimed that he paved the way for the new generation of Nigerian artistes.
Born Tochukwu Ojogwu, Odumodublvck is known for his stage performance and genre-blend.
In 2022, he signed a record deal with NATIVE Records, in partnership with Def Jam Recordings.
Last year, he released his 14-track mixtape titled ‘Eziokwu’.
He has gained so much traction for his craft.
