The rapper expressed gratitude to God for helping him overcome the habit, adding that many others have not been “that fortunate”.

“I was a very bright student. I used to take drugs to read,” he said.

“One day, I took drugs and I almost died. I called my mummy to book me a flight. I haven’t told her this before, she’ll see it from this podcast.

“I told her to book flight for me because I needed to come back to Abuja. When I got to Abuja, I sat down in the garden, I was thanking God.

“I saw one of my longtime guys. He told me he had something for me and he showed me crack. I said this thing is a devil but I took it for the last time.

“It’s not easy. I’m grateful to God because there were some people that went into that life and they didn’t make it out alive.

“Some have lost people to it, like they died, some people hang themselves because of this particular drug. They go to rehab and come back to it.”

Born Tochukwu Ojogwu, Odumodublvck is known for his unique stage performance and genre-mix style. In 2022, he signed a record deal with NATIVE Records, in partnership with Def Jam Recordings.
